Which one is the Fastest Formula 1 Nation? A stat that you might have not thought about but it might reveal some interesting data!
Which nation has most points won?
What is the point per driver ratio?
Which country has most/least drivers in F1?
All of that and more answered in the below analysis, of course with our interactive charts!
For the purpose of this exercise we recalculated all race results with the 2025 points system (fastest lap not included), also we split the British drivers into English, Scottish etc.
The end result is this:
Now the answer is obvious - English drivers have the post points but what the results say once we put them in perspective of points per driver? English also are the Nation with most Drivers in F1 (or are they?). Check out the table that calculates points per driver for each nation by dividing the total points with the number of drivers:
Also you will find the table below with the number of drivers in F1 for each Nation:
A total of 861 drivers have competed in F1 as of January 2025.
Americans, English and Italians are the top 3 nations with most drivers in the sport. Americans are here because of Indianapolis in the early years of the sport where many different drivers joined - so that might not be representative number and English are the number 1 nation by total drivers in F1.
Because of that, eventhough they have Lewis Hamilton - English are low on the table for points per driver - P18. While drivers from Finland, Poland and Monaco are topping the chart of most points per driver.
Czech Republic and Indonesia are the only nation that had drivers but didn't win any points (using the 2025 points system)
